It will be open until October 1 on Monday to Saturday 10:00-7:00 and Sunday 10:00-1:00. Free entrance. Manfredi Lombardi a Florentine artist looks over his past through a series of imaginary portraits done in his Mugello hermitage studio during 2004-2005. These include a personal portrayal of his mother as well as the musician Wanda Landowska and philosopher-writers Tolstoi, Camus, Voltaire, and even a childhood friend the scientist Margherita Hack. Manfredi also write an personal comment in an aphorism for each portrait. And yet three extraordinary large landscapes with a colorful brilliance and luminosity reveal his preference now for the natural world. Technically he uses modern materials - masonite boards and acrylic paints - to gain special light and shade atmospheric effects.
