The Tavola Doria, one of the most famous and “contended”
paintings of 16th century art, returned to Italy in 2018 for the exhibit Under
the sign of Leonardo, organised by the Municipality of Poppi in collaboration
with the Uffizi Gallery.
The catalogue offers an important scientific contribution to the complex
attributional affair of that masterpiece, in which Professor Louis Alexander
Waldman of the University of Austin (Texas) recognizes the hand of Francesco
Morandini, who worked in the second half of the sixteenth century.
