Il volume è dedicato al rilievo in bronzo del quartiere fiorentino di Oltrarno realizzato dalla ditta di Antonio e Antonella Ciulli per onorare la memoria del padre Renzo nel centenario della sua nascita. Inaugurato il 20 dicembre 2014 e modellato da Carlo Fagnini, il plastico è stato donato alla città ed è oggi collocato in prossimità di piazza Pitti.
“L’opera Oltrarno”, scrive il sindaco Dario Nardella, “unisce la nostra storia, l’abilità del lavoro manuale e una visione aziendale che ha saputo proiettare una bottega artigiana verso i mercati internazionali tenendo sempre fermi i canoni e la bellezza dell’artigianato artistico fiorentino”.
L’ampio testo dello storico Roberto Lunardi offre spunti di riflessione sulla storia della città.
The book is dedicated to the bronze relief of the Oltrarno district of Florence made by the firm of Antonio and Antonella Ciulli to honor the memory of their father Renzo on the centenary of his birth. Inaugurated on 20 December 2014 and modeled by Charles Fagnini , the plastic was donated to the city and is now placed near Piazza Pitti.
“The work Oltrarno” as we read in Dario Nardella’s foreword, “is a representation of all of this as it unites our history, the creativity of handicrafts, and a vision of craftsmanship which has launched an artisan’s workshop into the international market as well as firmly maintaining the values and beauty of the Florentine artist”.
