Progettata da William Rawn Associates di Boston, la “Church of the Transfiguration” è l’espressione contemporanea di un antico stile architettonico, ricolma di mosaici realizzati a mano e di affreschi, di sculture di bronzo e di vetro e di opere in pietra. Vi si racconta la storia della salvezza narrata dalla Bibbia: partendo dall’atrium, situato ad ovest, ove si illustra la creazione del mondo fisico descritta nella Genesi, si arriva fino all’estremità orientale con le immagini della Nuova Creazione, promessa e descritta nell’Apocalisse.

The book is the catalog of the permanent exhibition held in Barga (Lucca) at the Ecumenical Center of Art and Spirituality “Mount Tabor”, founded by the Community of Jesus. It is an ideal journey inside the Church of the Transfiguration of the Community of Jesus in Orleans, Massachusetts. The sacred artworks that adorn the Church are reproduced in the volume together with descriptive texts and news about the artists.
Designed by William Rawn Associates of Boston, the “Church of the Transfiguration” is the contemporary expression of an ancient architectural style, full of mosaics, frescoes, bronze and glass sculptures, stone works. It tells the history of salvation recounted in the Bible, from the Genesis to the Apocalypse.
