Cecilia Frosinini

Storica dell'arte, all'Opificio delle Pietre Dure, mi occupo di ricerca, tecnica, diagnostica, restauro.

Cecilia Frosinini, an Art Historian, served in several positions at the Opificio delle Pietre Dure and Laboratori di Restauro (OPD), Florence, Ministry of Culture, from 1990 to 2021.
She is presently a member of the Gallerie degli Uffizi Advisory Board.
At the Opificio, she was member of the Scientific Research Commitee and member of the OPD Managing Committee.
She served as Director of the Panel and Canvas Paintings Department, Director of the Wall Paintings Department, Director of the Paper and Parchment Department, Deputy Director of the Polychrome Wood Sculpture Department.
She has published more than two-hundred scholarly articles on medieval and Renaissance art, and has authored or co-edited twenty books and catalogues, including Masolino and Masaccio Panel Paintings: The Role of Technique. She has been Ailsa Bruce Mellon Fellow and E. J. Safra Visiting Professor at CASVA, National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C., in 2012 and 2013.
She is Member (Accademico d'Onore) of the historic Accademia delle Arti del Disegno, Florence.
She has taught as Adjunct Professor at the University of Florence, University of Pisa, and Catholic University in Milan.
She lectures widely in Europe and the United States, and has presented at international conferences, including at I Tatti, The Harvard University Center for Italian Renaissance Studies, The Metropolitan Museum of Art (NYC), the Virginia University, the Musée du Louvre, the National Gallery in London, the Leonardo Society in London, the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz.
