Donata Battilotti è docente di Storia dell’architettura alla
Facoltà di Lettere dell’Università di Udine. Studia l’architettura moderna,
indagandone la committenza, il cantiere, il rapporto con la storia della città
e del territorio e indirizzando le sue ricerche prevalentemente su temi veneti,
friulani e toscani. Si è occupata in particolare della figura e delle opere di
Andrea Palladio, della ricostruzione dell’immagine urbana e del territorio di
Vicenza nel Cinquecento attraverso documenti fiscali, di ville venete, della
costruzione del Palazzo Comunale e delle piazze Contarena e I Maggio di Udine,
di architettura friulana del Settecento, di insediamenti commerciali e
manufatturieri a Livorno e a Firenze in epoca rinascimentale. Fa parte del
consiglio scientifico del Centro Internazionale di Studi di Architettura Andrea
Palladio.

Battilotti teaches History of Architecture at the Faculty of Letters at the
University of Udine. She studies modern architecture, investigating its
patronage, construction sites, and relationship with the history of the city
and the territory, focusing her research mainly on Veneto, Friuli and Tuscany.
She has worked in particular on the figure and works of Andrea Palladio, the
reconstruction of the urban image and territory of Vicenza in the 16th century
through tax documents, Venetian villas, the construction of the Palazzo
Comunale and the Contarena and I Maggio squares in Udine, Friulian architecture
in the 18th century, and commercial and manufacturing settlements in Livorno
and Florence in the Renaissance period. She is a member of the scientific
council of the Andrea Palladio International Centre for Architectural Studies.
