The volume presents and analyzes a selection of twenty-two
choir books, created for Franciscan Observance convents, and kept inside the
Museum of San Marco in Florence. The books cover the span of a century: the
oldest volume is dated 1438, the most recent 1526. They were taken between 1867
and 1882 from five convents: Ognissanti and Santa Elisabetta in Capitolo
(Florence), San Bonaventura al Bosco ai Frati (San Piero a Sieve), San Vivaldo
(Montaione), Santi Cosma and Damiano (Incisa Valdarno).
