The expression “Corpo a corpo” is used to indicate close-range hand-to-hand combat. Metaphorically speaking, it is an action that synthesizes man’s daily struggle with himself in confronting life in all its complexity, and in this sense it appears both violent and poetic.
The catalog of the exhibition hosted at Villa Bardini, Florence, from 26 October 2019 to 12 January 2020, offers a real homage to classical tradition painting and sculpture through 35 works by as many figurative artists from 12 different countries of the world: Australia , The United States, China, the Russian Federation, Greece, Spain, Poland, Israel, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Sweden and Italy.

Biographies by Diana Perugini.
Texts by Carlo Sisi, Daniela Astone, Gaia Grazioli, Giovanna Uzzani.
Translations by Catherine Frost.
