The Alana Collection | Newark, Delaware, USA

The Alana Collection, specializing in Italian painting of the 13th to 16th centuries, is a relatively recent one; however, in less than fifteen years has succeeded to gather a very remarkable series of works of art. The items are selected by the owners both on the base of their artistic quality and their historical importance. The intention is to illustrate the characteristic of all important centres of artistic production in Italy during the later Middle Age and the Renaissance. The holdings of the collection will be published in various volumes, the first of which has just been issued, containing colour reproductions and exhaustive critical analysis, as well as full bibliography of each of the works discussed.
