Andrea Bettarini was born in Florence on August 7, 1947. Having obtained technological training, he won a competition at the Arcetri Observatory. He designed observational instruments used to see beyond the visible spectrum. For thirty years he has been part of the jury of readers of the Chianti Literary Prize, where he met numerous authors: hence his passion for writing. He has written articles on the history of science published in popular magazines. He enjoys alternating between short stories and archive research.
