Gino Severini was an Italian painter who was born on April 7, 1883, in Cortona (Tuscany). He reached his maximum expressiveness when he moved eighteen in Rome. Here Giacomo Balla started him in the Divisionist painting. Next, he became among the signatories in 1909 of the Manifesto of Futurism written by Filippo Tommaso Marinetti. In Paris, he also took part in the birth and development of Cubism. Theo van Doesburg defined the style of Severini psychic cubism. He died in Paris in 1966.
