Elisa Morucci
Nata a Firenze, Elisa Morucci svolge la sua attività artistica
tra Firenze, Pietrasanta, Carrara e Greve in Chianti. Nel 1996 consegue il suo
primo titolo di Maestra d’Arte. Studia Storia dell’Arte e Filosofia all’Università
di Firenze; dopo la laurea, si iscrive all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Carrara. Dopo
il suo esordio con una personale alla “Fondazione di Scienza e Tecnica” di
Firenze, svoltasi tra il febbraio e il marzo 2018, l’artista è stata invitata a
partecipare a eventi, tra cui la collettiva-evento promossa dalla “Nobile
Contrada del Nicchio” e “l’Antica Arte dei Vasai” a Siena e la I Biennale
d’Arte del Liceo Artistico “Petrocchi” di Pistoia. Nel luglio 2018, con uno dei
suoi lavori dal titolo Anima Mundi, realizzato appositamente per il
Musée d’Art et d’Archéologie di Antananarivo, è stata accolta nella collezione
permanente del museo. Un’altra copia dell’opera è conservata nel Parco
dell’Isalo, anch’esso in Madagascar. Nel settembre 2018, in occasione della
Festa di Santa Rosa da Viterbo e del Trasporto della Macchina a lei dedicato,
l’artista ha plasmato e donato al Museo del Sodalizio dei Facchini di Santa
Rosa l’opera Rosa, scultura
in galestro etrusco rappresentante la santa bambina, “lontana dalla santità
della Chiesa” – raccontava – “ma già intimamente connessa alla Legge che tutto
permea; già naturalmente intrisa, nell’anima e nel corpo, dai sentimenti di
Amore e Sacrificio che caratterizzano gli spiriti elevati, nelle culture di
ogni tempo”. Nella sua ultima personale Opere Spiritus, ospitata presso Palazzo
Chigi a San Quirico d’Orcia dal 13 ottobre al 15 novembre 2018, Morucci ha
esposto una selezione di bronzi, realizzati nel 2017, in cui sono indagate le
fasi del processo alchemico, nelle quali l’artista fiorentina ritrova
importanti analogie con i passaggi del processo scultoreo. In occasione della
mostra, la scultrice, ha installato, nello storico borgo termale di Bagno
Vignoni presso la vasca di piazza delle Sorgenti, l’opera dal titolo It’s long way to the top, potente
e suggestiva figura femminile sospesa a filo d’acqua: “la torsione innaturale
del corpo” – sostiene l’artista – “rende palpabile lo strazio dell’esistenza
nella materia, con tutti i suoi limiti, ma altresì la volontà di andare oltre
se stessi per riappropriarsi della propria natura divina”.
Born in Florence, Elisa Morucci
carries out her artistic activity between Florence, Pietrasanta, Carrara and
Greve in Chianti. In 1996 she obtained her first title of Master of Art. She
studied History of Art and Philosophy at the University of Florence. After
graduating, she enrolled in the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara. From the end
of 2016 she has been working in a foundry in Pietrasanta where she created her
bronze works. After her debut in a solo exhibition held at the Science and
Technology Museum of Florence between February and March 2018, this artist has
been invited to take part in events, including the collective event promoted by
the “Nobile Contrada del Nicchio” and “the Ancient Art of the Potters” in Siena
and the First Edition of the Biennial of the Liceo Artistico “Petrocchi” of
Pistoia. In July 2018 one of her works entitled Anima Mundi, expressly created for the Museum of
Art and Archaeology of Antananarivo, was added to the permanent collection of
the museum. Another copy of the same work is now exhibited in the Isalo
National Park in Madagascar. In September 2018, on the occasion of the Feast of
Saint Rose of Viterbo and the Transport of the Machine dedicated to her, the
artist created Rosa, an Etruscan galestro sculpture representing the
saint as a little girl, that she offered to the Museo del Sodalizio dei
Facchini di Santa Rosa. “Far from the holiness of the Church”, explained the
artist “but already intimately connected to the Law that permeates everything,
the soul and the body [of this young girl] are already naturally pervaded by
the feelings of Love and Sacrifice that characterise the high spirits in the cultures
of every age”. For her latest solo exhibition Opere
Spiritus, held at Palazzo Chigi in San
Quirico d’Orcia from 13th October to 15th November 2018, Morucci exhibited a
selection of bronzes, made in 2017, in which she explores the stages of the alchemical
process, that according to the Florentine artist, are similar to the sculptural
ones. On the occasion of this exhibition in San Quirico, the sculptress
installed in the historic thermal town of Bagno Vignoni near the bath of piazza
delle Sorgenti, a work named It’s long way to the top that represents a powerful and
evocative figure of a woman suspended at the water’s edge. “The unnatural twist
of the body”, states the artist, “not only reveals through the limits of the material,
the torment of the existence but also the will to go beyond oneself in order to
restore one’s own divine nature.”
