Alberto Antonelli

Alberto Antonelli started his scientific activity at the Department of Civil Engineering in Florence. In April 2001 he obtained the title of Doctor of Research, discussing a dissertation entitled Deformability and sliding phenomena in structural elements in c.a. In May 2002 he participated, being the winner, the selection for the award of a research grant related to the program "Conservation and monitoring of monumental buildings" to be held at the Department of Civil Engineering in Florence, which lasted until July 2005. He has held the position of contract professor in the course of Project Management, at the Degree Courses in Civil Engineering and Construction at the University of Florence. He is the author of nine scientific publications in the field of structural engineering, with particular reference to the design techniques and numerical analysis to the finite elements of reinforced concrete structures. His scientific research concerns techniques of identification of "strut-and-tie" mechanisms for the design of structural elements of reinforced concrete not treatable with the theory of beams. He also deals with the deformability of reinforced concrete structures, with particular reference to the adhesion between steel and concrete, and numerical modelling techniques.
