Enio Nardi, born in Capannori (Lucca), lives in Florence. He was professor of Systematic Botany and director of the Department of Plant Biology of the University of Florence. Currently he is a member of several editorial boards of international and national botanical journals. His scientific activity, proved by numerous publications in specialized papers, covers the subject areas of systematics and phytogeography of tracheophytes. The author collaborated, among other things, with “Flora Europaea” and “Flora Hellenica” in editing the genus Aristolochia L., and is responsible for treating the family Aristolochiaceae and genus Aquilegia L. within the projects “Euro+Med PlantBase” and “Flora Critica d’Italia”.
