Dal 1980 Eva Basile collabora con aziende tessili. Ha
lavorato in molti settori: biancheria per la casa, tessuti operati, stampa,
studio-tendenze. Insegna tessitura in carcere, comunità terapeutiche, centri
diurni, scuole private. Ha partecipato a mostre collettive e concorsi. Dal 1977
al 1981 ha frequentato l’Istituto Statale d’Arte di Firenze. Ha studiato
decorazione tessile, nelle varie discipline: progettazione, stampa su tessuto,
batik, tessitura. Fra i suoi insegnanti: Maria Magni, Graziella Guidotti,
Giorgio Brini, Anna Conti, Carla Gori.
In seguito ha studiato Arti visive al D.A.M.S. di Bologna
Nel 1993 ha seguito il corso di progettazione dei tessuti Jacquard presso la
Fondazione Lisio. Il suo maestro è stato Thierry Favre. Roberta Landini le ha
insegnato l’analisi e catalogazione dei tessuti antichi, presso la Fondazione
Lisio, nel 1994. Dal ’94 insegna tessitura Jacquard e analisi del tessuto
presso quella fondazione.
Since 1980,
Eva Basile collaborates with textile company. She has worked in numerous fields:
household linen, operated fabrics, print, study-trends. She teaches weaving in
jail, therapeutic communities, day care centres, private schools. She has
participate to group exhibitions and contests. From 1977 to 1981, she frequented
the State Institute of Art in Florence. She studied textile decoration, in the
various subjects: projection, print on textile, batik, weaving. Some of
her teachers: Maria Magni, Graziella Guidotti, Giorgio Brini, Anna Conti, Carla
Gori.
Then she
has studied visual arts at D.A.M.S in Bologna, in 1993 she has followed the course
projection of Jacquard fabrics at the
Lisio Foundation. Her teacher was Thierry Favre. Roberta Landini has teached her
analisis and cataloguing of antic fabrics, at the Lisio Foundation, in 1994. From
1994 she teaches Jacquard weaving and analisis of fabrics at this Foundation.
During the
summers 1999 and 2000, she did two short seminaries on popular weaving,
organized in Rocca Varano by the Association Arti e Mestieri. Graziella Guidotti
was its animator. In February 2001 she studies pre-Colombian weaving with
Chiara Barontini, in the ethnologic museum of Florence. There was a second seminary
in April. During summer 2001, Luciano Ghersi assembled for her an African
chassis and teached her fundamentals of Ewe weaving, in the open-air workshop
of the Monte Labro Study Centre. In November 2001 she went to Likor, Ghana, at
the Blakhud Research Centre. The Master Robert Aleawobu explained her the kpevi
technics on the African chassis. In January 2003 she went again to Klikor,
where she has in depth her knowledge on occidental Africa weaving.
